Did you know Pegasys and Graves disease are linked. In rare cases, Pegasys can cause Graves. Which means you have to constantly pull the TSH. Something your oncologist probably isn’t watching. Tell them to pull it! Do you have your ferritin pulled as well? Anemia can be a cause of MPN’s. We have to watch our iron as it’s a great indicator of autoimmune diseases…like cancer.
I have a friend in Canada that now has to take a thyroid pill because something is happening with her thyroid from MPN. I asked her if she ever heard of Graves Disease and she said she was going to read up on it…
@A myMPNteam Member it’s thyroid disease. TSH is thyroid stimulating hormone. Almost similar symptoms as I have on Pegasys
I’m not really sure because all my life I have been trying to donate blood but when the Red Cross would test me at the blood drive, they said that I was a little anemic so I went to my PCP and asked if I was and they tan a blood test. They told me that my blood was fine but that it wasn’t as rich as the Red Cross wanted it to be so I couldn’t donate. Who knows, maybe I have been sick the whole time but it just got worse in 11/2020?
@A myMPNteam Member im sorry to hear that. Did they mention if that contributes to the cause of your MPN?
I have anemia. Been like that since onset of MPN
