The first one wiped me out. Subsequent phlebotomies were easier. I justade aure to drink a LOT of water the day before.

Sadly fatigue is often a symptom. I have energy to do what I need to do with lots of sleep. 8-10 hours sometimes

Thanks Randy. I asked the dr and nurse if it would make me tired and they rather minimised it, so I wondered if it was a common reaction.

Hi Kathryn: You will get tired from the phlebotomies as it reduces your iron levels. Try to find a treatments(hydroxyurea for example) that reduces your hematocrit without having to resort to a venesection. Best of luck
