ET: Blast In Blood?
A myMPNteam Member asked a question 💭

JHello,

I'm 35F ET CALR+ with BM Fibrosis=1, plt>1 mln, no medication just followups.
By reading the last blood checks i found a comment from the lab saying "patient known for ET.
Thrombocytosis with an isolated
blast and rare reactive lymphocytes till an isolated plasmacell ".
While in previous comments it was never found.
All other values were fine, besides the plt of course.

Is it something that might happen in ET
Has someone experienced it?
I'm starting to get really worried I might… read more

Having had ET 22+ years, and now also PV, it has always been my understanding that these blood disorders can and often do progress over time.

As we are not curable, I work hard at not worrying too much.

That said, tho, I always look at my labs, and ask questions about things I don’t understand, as one presumes the doctors never miss anything but I know for a fact that is not the case.

Unless I am at the office for an appointment, I like to use the patient portal and ask questions in writing, then I have that to refer to.

Deep breaths, follow your treatment regimen and try not to worry about what the future may hold.

I found this short article. Apparently some healthy people may have single or isolated blasts in peripheral blood too.

Nope, except for the one that says a person has to have more than 20% to have a high risk for some kind of leukemia. I can't remember where. I just found out my gallbladder is swollen with no stones, which can be really bad. My bone marrow biopsy came with 3 TET2 mutations and CSF3R p.G683R. I have no idea what these mean, but I am freaked out. I was sort of getting used to the idea of having ET, but I am now wondering if I have something else.

Hi Laimi, Hi MH,

i've asked my heama about it, she said that since i was pregnant at that time, she does not think it's relevant, since it could be possible in pregnant woman to observe something similar and to do not worry about it.
let's see in the next checks :)
thx all for the kind answers, it's great to know that we are not alone and can count on someone else that understands.

thx all 💕
