I have ET & latest platelet count was 1086.. my Haematologist has commenced me on Hydrea but this has made me feel so much worse with no response in platelet count, so i have stopped taking for now & will continue on aspirin & healthy lifestyle… ?!? 😊

I would start taking hydrea from 1,200,000. From that number on I would take hydrea and adjust the dose. Hydrea also prevents the disease from progressing

When I first started Hydrea .. which is quite recently in July … 1 x500g cap I did feel quite nauseous .. then I was recommended to take it at night time with a glass of milk before bed. This stopped the nausea and I find I tolerate it quite well now.
First blood test it hadn’t made any change to my platelets so Haem increased dose 2x 500g. Having next blood test tomorrow so🤞🏻🤞🏻
Keeping our stress levels down is important too I was told.
