I joined this website recently and am amazed at the differences people experience when taking HU for ET. I haven't had unusual weight gain after three years on HU but I haven't been able to lose weight so will watch for that. Thanks!

I lost 30 lb that's how I new somthing was wrong went to reg md .HE did blood panel every thing was high red , white, and plates, hematocrit ,( he sent me to hemothgist ( at the cancer canter)he diagnosed me with pv did phlebotomy ver 2 to 3 week got every thing back down put me hydra and aspirin never gain the weight back that I lost it been 11years still on hydroxyurea 1000 mg a day and aspirin

Yes. I have ET and have been using Hydroxyurea since 2007. I have gained over 25 pounds and my hair is thinning. I had a lot of hair and now it’s falling out.

Yes! At joked at first because I was overweight when diagnosed. "when is the weight loss gonna kick in". But if never did. I barely eat and I'm up 45 pounds
