Hi Mark, yes, I recently experimented with adding 2000 mg of Vitamin D3 daily to my regimen after reading an article on this platform. I have PV (diagnosed 3 yrs ago, just turned 71) and although I am on Hydrea 1000 mg/day, my platelets had started inching up in the past year to out of normal range. When I read this article I stopped taking my usual multivitamin and just took the vitamin D. Three weeks after doing so, had my routine 3 mo blood check and my platelets had gone down 110 pts and are now in normal range - first time in almost a year - and that is the only thing I had done differently. Coincidence? Who knows? Hematologist didn’t put much priority on it but it seems to me to be significant.
My take away is- we all have to keep sharing our stories to see if we can make sense of our condition which has doctors baffled in that there is no cure and no one knows what causes it.
Take care, Mark

Thx Joanne, that's good news! My next labs are in 2 months, been taking D3 for 2 weeks now, so hoping for results.

I am 71 years old. My internist has me taking D3 because it's good for aging bones. I have no idea if it would help with platelets. The only supplement that I've seen might be helpful with platelets is Turmeric.
