reading about all the side effects of the main drug we take again our disease it is hard to make a choice , but also the side effects of the disease itself
i take medication agains gout attack , herpes zoster so what is a good choice to make . ps i have take all those different meds HU , jakafi at this moment

HI HELEN2 i have made the change from HU to interferon (besremi)
taking both first see how it goes then reduce hu when you see interferon takes it over

Hi Bert, I have for some time wondered the very same thing. The effect of Hu on allergies and also is there a correlation with MPN's and Atopic persons? I am sure there must be some research somewhere. Regards.

Hi Helen, my situation mirrors yours treatment wise, and very bad allergies in the UK this season. I find higher doses Hu too much (over 1000mg 2tabs) and considering a switch to Besrami interferon or Jakafi Rux. I use standard beconase as I find the prescription grade nasal sprays too strong with too many sides. I also take an occasional Loratadine - other types make me drowsy.

It's all such a learning curve and quite a horrible mixture of symptoms to cope with sometimes. I have even taken to sitting in a car just to enjoy the filtered air at times. Living amongst beautiful countryside doesn't help but I still love it! My fifteen year old also has bad hayfever and we have a great air filter in his room which really does help.

I have wondered for some time weather there is a correlation with MPN's and gneral allergies? So many people with MPN's seem to suffer.

Yes I have Et Calr. I was diagnosed Nov. 2019. I'm on 3 x500 Hydroxy 4 days a week. 2 x 500 3 days a week.
My hayfever is unbearable.
I'm on a nose inhaler. I had headaches for 3 months. Fatigue. I was prescribed Fexofenadine 180 mg last week as I was in a bad way.
It's helped a lot. My last platelet Count was the lowest at 470. From over 700.
I can say honestly that my hayfever really left me unable to cope what with the condition itself or being Hydroxycarbamide as well as severe hayfever it was making me so unwell.
