Does anyone know of any resources for help paying for phlebotomy therapy? This is not covered by insurance and I have it every 2 weeks.
I’m surprised your insurance will not cover medically required phlebotomies. My hematologist had to send in a pre-authorization request, but it was then approved. I would check with your insurance and with your provider about this, anything else that may be needed for approval and their appeal process for denials.
It may also be possible to have this done at a local blood bank at a lower cost, tho they have to throw the blood away I looked into this a few years ago because I was traveling to another part of the U.S.
Good luck, and please keep us posted here as your information may help others.
