Good grief, I sure hope caffeine doesn’t impact PV 😉 I do find I can handle less caffeine than I used to because it can affect my sleep. Basically no caffeine after 3 pm even though I go to bed around 10:30 pm on a weeknight.

Does caffeine affect polycythemia vera (PV)?

Based on current information, there isn't specific evidence showing that caffeine directly affects PV or its symptoms. The search results don't mention caffeine as something that impacts red blood cell production or PV progression.

However, it's worth noting that some beverages containing caffeine, like green tea, have been studied for potential benefits in PV. Green tea contains antioxidants and compounds that may help with inflammation and could potentially affect iron levels, which is relevant since managing iron is part of PV treatment.

If you're concerned about caffeine's impact on your PV or how it might interact with your medications, it's best to discuss this with your doctor. They can provide personalized guidance based on your specific treatment plan and overall health.
