Is Anyone Else Participating In The Study Being Done By Dr. Angela Fleischman Out Of UC Irvine About Nutrition Or Familial MPNs?

Dr. Fleischman is looking for families with multiple cases of MPN's and/or an MPN and other cancers. She is hoping to have some family members participate who do not have an MPN - or another type of cancer - and also have family members who have say skin or other cancer but not an MPN. She will send you everything you need to participate. My Dr at MD Anderson said he’d send Dr Fleischman an email and introduce us. I had to poke him but he did. Her office called me last week. I’m making plans go go see her in late September.

I did sign up for Dr Fleischman’s study. Have yet to hear anything. I just returned from a visit at MD Anderson. My Dr knows Dr Fleischman and is going to get in touch and send me out to see her, considering what I do with foods and herbs. He says she'll love to chat with me. I have my doubts as there's plenty of mushroom and health nuts in California, but I need a vacation so what the heck.

Mary4, thanks so much for the useful information! I wish it were as simple as asking my local oncologist's office to do an extra tube. You'd think seeing they already have the needle in my arm, but no. They have a policy against it. It must take business away from the lab companies. Mighty nice of them! And the lab companies won't do more than one lab order per stick, requiring multiple sticks and of course multiple payments. If they'd just bill for each order I wouldn't have an issue with it but they won't.
Thanks again for the links!

Actually my local Oncologists office won't do that anymore. They claim it's a legal issue.
