Members shared many unexpected symptoms tied to their MPN or PV diagnoses, with fatigue being the most common theme, described by many as a level of exhaustion far beyond what they had ever experienced before. Several members also noted surprising symptoms like intense itching, nerve pain, numbness, blurry or double vision, night sweats, foot and leg cramps, brain fog, and a condition called erythromelalgia that caused painful burning in the legs and toes. A recurring theme was the relief of finding others with the same experiences, along with shared hope around treatments like Jakafi, Pegasys, and interferon as alternatives to hydroxyurea.

My oncologist says the itching isn’t part of ET! I wish he had ET, then give me his feedback!!😆

Gosh Jim, same here with all those symptoms. I have to say the double vision and blurry vision is the worst.

There are a number of things I did not expect. Double and blurry vision, memory loss, understanding basic instructions, and chronic, chronic fatigue, and dizziness. I walk like a drunken sailor. On the other hand, I can re-read favorite books, and it’s like reading them for the first time again 😁

Read the research done at Weill Cornell and we all should stop poison like hydroxyurea and go on Interferon.
