Interferon, Pegylated
I’m looking to hear about peoples experience with this drug. I’m very nervous to start it, but also desperate for some symptom relief.
Hi Kara
Starting on Interferon is something you must try. It is scary at first having to self inject.
I was on Interferon for 5 months. I chose Sunday night to inject as that was the best night for me. I started on 25% of the full dose . The first day after was always a day I rested with flu symptoms.
Even after the first month my liver enzymes started to increase.
I did eventually take 75% of the full dose however my liver enzymes were totally off the scale and the flu like symptoms continued longer than one day.
It was during this time that bone pain first appeared
I did have benefits and refuel from a few symptoms of PV. From the first injection I did not have one nose bleed or bleeding gums, which was previously a daily occurrence. They simply disappeared the whole time on Interferon. Also the pooling of blood in my feet also disappeared.
I suppose I could have tolerated the days flu and other symptoms but my liver could not.
I hope everything works out for you. You can do this
I am ready to start Hydroxy too, but still on 3 Phlebes a month, but i am too tired to even talk! I have PVJAKS2, count is sky high. I'm so sick of it
Thank you for sharing your experience.
