Which Supplements Or Vitamins Do You Take?
I like to take vitamins and swear by turmeric and root ginger. However, since my diagnosis I've added b12, magnesium and vit d (sometimes). I was given some super strength iron by the Dr but I'm out of anemia now so I take them when I'm due my menstruation only.
Sigh.....CoQ10, vit D (I'm from the southern US, now living in the Chicago area and chronically deficient in D3 at every test), Biotin and Collagen to counter the hair loss from Hydroxyurea, and magnesium for the darned leg cramps. All B-anything supplements make me sick for 12 hours.
I would like to be on magnesium besides the D3, but GI specialist stopped it because of rather severe IBS-D issues years ago.
Barbara, I hope your neurologist has you on the 50,000 units of vitamin D for only a short period of time. They sometimes reduce that dose after about eight weeks for safety sake, but I’ve read that in some cases it is given in that high a dose for a year maximum. I’m only curious about the reason for your treatment. Hope you are doing well.
Dee Garner had mentioned taking vitamin E to help prevent mouth ulcers while on Hydrea, and for hair, skin, and nails. I fully agree, also taking it myself for those reasons as well as for its supposed boost to the immune system.
