In A Blood Chemistry Test, They Couldn’t Rule Out A Myeloproliferative Neoplasm, Should I Follow Up? Do I Have MPN?
I’m having a very difficult time getting my GP to consider this test. She says all of my CBC’s are fine. Do I need to get this followed up on? If they couldn’t rule it out, doesn’t that mean they found it in my blood? Ugh, I’m getting so sick and tired of being sick and tired and not getting the card I need. I’m being my own advocate and doing what I think I need to do but I’m not getting anywhere in the last 15 months. What would you recommend? Thank you!
I would follow up, perhaps with another doctor. My MPN (ET) was diagnosed after a CBC disclosed extremely high platelets. The diagnosis was confirmed after a repeat CBC and a bone marrow biopsy. I had no symptoms.
If you are aware of various symptoms and signals then I would highly recommend that you get another doctor to investigate with you. Not sure what you mean by “ this test “.
Abnormal blood readings are the first clue that further testing could help .
My diagnosis came long after I had symptoms . I’m my case .. headaches and very itchy scalp . Some night sweats and by bras in hands and feet can also hint at a problem.
Hope this helps !
