A BMB was done with me early on and was important diagnostically with my ET tho I don’t recall the specifics now nearly 22 years ago.

Very little discomfort to these, and not to be feared in my opinion.

Yes have the BMB, you are given a light aneasthetic and its Ok, I recovered well. It is extremely important to get an accurate diagnosis and will help determine treatment.

Why don't you want to have a bone biopsy? Sounds like you need one they're very informative and you know I must be lucky because I have never felt anything before, during, or after ..zippo! And I learned a lot . Make sure you take home the entire bone marrow biopsy and start reading watching webinars on YouTube. I think bone marrow biopsies are important and offer a lot of information, maybe too much. Not really too much but
2 biopsies ago I showed BCR/ABL 190 and it was not what I thought I'd see. I find out more tomorrow but I've been on jackify 8 years and hydroxurea , then Anegrilide and always 325 mg of aspirin a day and I don't have any bad reactions. my hematocrit, hemoglobin are always good . My platelets are always through the roof . 😆 I'm blessed knock on wood

Many blood tests and platelets still rising, not very high as its 525 so far, lots of symptoms but BMB is the last option as oncologist said blood tests are not always accurate and platelets could be higher. Red and white cells not good either. More concerned that if its not found in the biopsy then I have to live with feeling, tired, itchy, headaches and blurred vision, symptoms are there but unsure of the cause.
