Yes but they're usually rare to get.

Would like to add....that I was a participant in a sars covi 2 study for about 1 1/2 years. As part of the study, I was tested for about ten different viruses...ie Lyme disease, Epstein Barr and others. I was negative for all.

People can have dormant EBV. I just researched and found out it can cause large B cell lymphoma, not sure what that is yet or if it's similar to an MPN. A simple blood test can tell you if you are EBV (epstein barr) positive. It's a very common virus that many people don't even know they have it, similar to mono also.

I harbor three latent viruses:

1. Chickenpox: If reactivated late in life, it comes back as shingles. Has not reactivated.

2. HSV1: The Herpes Simplex Virus 1. It rears its ugly head from time to time. I take a prophylactic antiviral (Acyclovir) to keep it under control.

3. Epstein Barr: As far as I know, this one has not reactivated.

I am not aware of any permanent viruses I may have.
