Hi I’ve been on Hydrea 1000mg for about 12 years and I’m now beginning to feel very tired! Luckily my GP is referring me to an MPN specialist (who I found myself luckily as they are very few and far between) and like everyone says we have to be our own advocates. Finding out is the fatigue and bone pain is the result of ET, HU or just getting older must be the $64k question. I’m looking forward to another opinion 😀

It is a burden taking those capsules, isn't it?

But please remember, ET in itself wears us out. Fatigue is the most frequently reported symptom of our disorder.

I started HU 6 months go. Not every day is great, but I definitely have more energy than I did before starting treatment.

Many people have taken HU for years, even decades. Unfortunately there's no cure (yet!) for ET. Fortunately HU is inexpensive and is tolerated well by most people.

Some ETrs have benefitted by switching to other medications.

Something to discuss with your doctor!
