I'm now retired from having done dog rescue for over 45 years (for over 400 dogs), mostly of which were Special Need's (cancer, epilepsy, blind, crippled, deaf, or very old). Anyway, I bet there are a lot of people that don't realize that dogs can also have PV. So make sure when your dogs have their yearly blood work done by the Vet Clinic, that they discuss with you if your dog's Hemoglobin and Hematocrit levels are above the normal reference range for dogs.
