I have ET due to CalR mutation. I am helped by stress reduction techniques. One person on this website insists that stress is irrelevant, citing psychological studies that I think are inconclusive.
Your post is an example of how personal reactions can differ, Janet. Somebody else wrote earlier that stress did affect her platelet counts. Also, my ET specialist is "positive" that my platelet count went up due to sudden unusual stress (a completely unexpected diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer for my husband) and then down again when stress was reduced by the effectiveness of a new cancer treatment. Another example of differences in reactions: I have fewer side effects from Anagrelide than I did from HU, but some people here have no trouble with HU, and one person wrote here that she had a heart attack when she switched to Anagrelide after many years on HU. Finally, I send best wishes for improved health and reduced stress to everyone in this group..
Well, when I am stressed I can't sleep. Then the headaches come for sure. So, even if there is not a direct relationship, stress certainly doesn't help.
Hem fiziksel hem de zihinsel stres faktörleri, trombosit biyoaktivitesi ve agregasyonundaki değişikliklerle yansıtılan trombosit aktivasyonuna neden olur.
Hi Laimi. When I have a headache and can't sleep, I wet a face cloth with cold water, wring it out, and lie down with the cloth across my forehead. Then focus on breathing. Works for me. Hope that helps. Also, I asked my MPN specialist if there was something he could prescribe for headaches. He said just use over-the-counter headache meds like Advil, if my tummy can tolerate it.
Janice, it is so true. We are all very different. I'm sorry to hear about your husband's lung cancer diagnosis. Definitely a 10 on the life stress event scale. I hope you and he are having good days.
