My regular hematologist recommended my specialist. He contacted them and they called me to set up an appointment. It is an hour and a half drive to the clinic, but well worth the drive.

As a nurse, you should have access to those answers better than me, but I should think if you get on the internet and look up MPN specialists in your state, you should be able to find someone with which to visit. Start with a local Hematologist and go from there.

- American Society of Hematology — Their online database helps locate hematologists with a clinical interest in MPNs
- MPNforum — Publishes a list of MPN professionals in the U.S. and worldwide, organized by location
- MPN Research Foundation — A national organization dedicated to MPNs that can provide guidance

Once you find a specialist, ask if telehealth visits are an option, especially if they're far from where you live. Many specialists are happy to do follow-up appointments virtually.
