I'm with bert2. To clarify, I swim but do not lay in the sun. Not wise for anyone.
diagnosed pv in 1995 have been on and of hu , never had skin cancer problems so swimming no problem i think laying on the beach in the sun NO
Hi, I was (am, still getting to pool a little) a regular lap swimmer when diagnosed 20 years ago. I was started on HU at the time and was on it for ten years. I've swam in an outer pool. Sometimes I would apply sunscreen to make face, neck, chest, and arms. Other times and summers I wouldn't. About five months I swam/swim indoor (when too cold for outdoor swimming). I've not had any skin cancer. I always go to my once a year skin check. I would never have given up the feeling of swimming. It was/is mentally healing for me. I repeat the famous saying from the movie "Nemo", "just keep swimming, just keep swimming". ππββοΈ
