14 years of ET Jak2+. First surgery was right when I was diagnosed and platelets were 1,250,000. No problems. If I remember, my hematologist increased my ASA to 325 from 81 for a while. Next surgery was emergency from a car accident where they had to put my left foot back in place with a bunch of screws and a plate. No problems. I did bed exercises every day during recovery. Just ask your surgeon to talk to your hematologist.

Sympathy for your situation. It's natural to be worried. Please tell your MPN doctor about the breast surgery as modifications in medication may be advised for the week or day of surgery. I've got ET due to CalR mutation. Recently had outpatient surgery to remove over-producing parathyroid glands from my throat. Platelets were in 700's at that time. The surgery was OK'd by my ET specialist. Recovery was speedy and easy. I hope that's true for you as well.

I had reverse shoulder replacement last year. Ortho required a pre-op consult with my hematologist, he then prescribed a plan for before and after surgery, no problems whatsoever. Your docs will coordinate care, follow that and try not to worry. Hugs to you.

I had two surgeries for a broken collar bone while my platelets were in the 600,000s and 800,000's. I had no abnormal incidents or issues. But, that first surgery was a tough one because it involved the placement of hardware with the use of some long screws through a couple of my bones. I say tough because of the recovery. I had surgery to remove my gallbladder. My platelets were on the 900,000's. I had no issues.

I had an explant and lift in June. I am 64yrs with ET JAK2+

All went perfectly and I am recovering well. The surgeon and haematologist communicated and were happy to proceed.
