That’s one of the reasons I wanted to get off HU (which I did in January). With all of the mouth sores that seem to be so common, and the fact that my mother died of cancer of the jaw, it was scary enough when I began to develop swallowing issues, sore throats and hoarseness all last year. I had taken HU daily for four years, and since I’ve been off it, no further swallowing or throat issues. Also, my PV symptoms have lessened, energy level increased, and I generally have a more optimistic outlook. Going into my 88th year, I’m looking forward to many more good years than bad…..may even tackle another mountain trail like I just completed last week.

H Diannedaily, yes I’ve experienced that numerous times .My mpn specialist never stopped or reduced my hydroxurea for this matter. I just did mouth sore mouthwashes and given a certain prescription cream for the ones that would become extremely large . That wasn’t a reason to stop or reduce medicine.
