Here is the article: Curcumin induces apoptosis in JAK2-mutated cells by the inhibition of JAK2/STAT and mTORC1 pathways

I can’t say whether it has helped in me, but as I haven’t noticed any adverse effects, I continue to take it. I believe that the University of Southern California is exploring a relationship between turmeric and JAK2 inhibition in clinical trials. I think they’re testing a combination supplement or medicine. I’ve been taking turmeric for inflammation since before my diagnosis but did check with my hematologist after finding the 2019 study that showed that in test tubes, turmeric induces apoptosis (programmed cell death) in mutated JAK2 cells. Essentially, as long as you don’t take too much and you don’t have other issues such as kidney problems, my hematologist had no issues with me taking it. Check with your doctor, though, to be sure your doctor approves of adding or continuing turmeric in your diet or as a supplement.
It takes a while for the platelets to lower after starting Hydroxyurea. I believe it took about 3 months for mine to come down. In addition... exercise and diet also help. Keep strong.
I've recently been diagnosed with ET. Had my first bloodwork since i started taking 500mg Hydroxyurea. My platelet count is still high so I'm following this thread to see what others are doing to help lower their counts. Thanks for your question.
