At first I was getting weekly blood draws to see what effect Ojjaara was having. Most parameters were stable, rather than deteriorating, and my doctor said the spleen size was no longer increasing. Once a day Ojjaara is easy to take and despite all the warnings about side effects, I'm lucky not to be seeing any. The one HUGE issue is cost. My insurance pays nearly all the $30,000 per month cost, and incredibly a foundation pays the rest. I feel so fortunate.
I too have recently started Ojjaara and am not convinced. I am still anemic even though I have been going for a weekly Procrit shot for months. My platelets are going up and I have no energy. Not that I’m complaining but I hate this disease.
I have only been on Ojjaara a short time and am not yet convinced it is “amazing” as I was on Jakafi before and my spleen shrunk but I also experienced issues with low platelets and anemia.
Now my spleen is painful and enlarging and am still anemic which means headaches, chest pain, low energy and so not really a big fan so far! I am not seeing a benefit! Maybe I will in the future but not yet!
What brings you to conclusion that it is “amazing”? I would like to be able to visualize what positives I might experience.
Are there other Ojjaara users who share your positive experience?
