I had flaking appear after starting Anagrelide in Feb 2026. It was around my eyes and up into my hairline. I tried creams, but the thing that really worked was Vaseline.

I found that the Sarna cream meant for eczema or any of the eczema creams are better than just the plain creams

Are you experiencing flaking skin related to your MPN?

Flaking and dry skin can be connected to MPN-related itching (pruritus), which is one of the most common symptoms. Scratching irritated skin can worsen dryness and flaking over time.

Here are some tips that may help:

- Apply moisturizer or emollients frequently — try chilling the product in the fridge first for extra relief
- Stay well hydrated by drinking 6–8 glasses of water daily
- Avoid hot baths or showers, as heat can trigger skin irritation
- Avoid harsh soaps or sudden changes in skincare products
- Dress in layers to avoid overheating, which can worsen skin symptoms

If lifestyle changes aren't helping, over-the-counter antihistamines like Claritin, Zyrtec, or Allegra may offer some relief. Medications that help manage blood counts, like Hydroxyurea, can also help with skin symptoms in some cases.

It's always worth mentioning persistent or worsening skin changes to your doctor, as they can help find the right approach for you.

Hi all- I apply lotion in the shower. Seems to make a huge difference. You pores are open and absorb the lotion better. Hope this is helpful 🙂
